After a career spanning a little over 20 years within the administration, which led him to hold important responsibilities within the State and local authorities, Gilles Le Chatelier became a lawyer in March 2011 and joined the ADAMAS law firm on this occasion.

Since then, he has used his experience with public decision-makers and his in-depth knowledge of public law in all his areas of expertise.

Working on behalf of public authorities as well as public or private operators working by their side, he is involved in numerous cases in public procurement and public ownership law, as well as in the implementation of complex arrangements.

He also practises in the field of energy law, mainly in the field of hydroelectricity and electricity distribution. He has been a co-author of the commented Dalloz Energy Code since its inception.

He advises many local authorities, assisting them in the design and implementation of their strategic and high-stake projects.

Associate Professor of Public Law (Paris X Nanterre 2003-2005, Lyon II, 2005-2008, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Lyon 2008-2020), he also chairs the Board of Directors of the Lyon Institute of Political Studies (IEP) 2012. He is also a member of the scientific council of the Legal news for local and regional authorities (AJCT- Actualité Juridique des collectivités territoriales) and regularly publishes in numerous legal journals specialised in public law.

Lastly, he is a Knight of the National Order of Merit (2002), as well as of the Order of the Legion of Honour (2016).
