Carrière

André WATBOT is a partner in the corporate department of the Rennes office of Cornet Vincent Ségurel. He devotes his practice to handling banking and finance matters.

André WATBOT was called to the Bar in 2003, after he obtained his master's degrees in business law and private law from the University of Rennes, and a LLM in international business studies from the University of Exeter. Before joining Cornet Vincent Ségurel, he practiced for nearly 9 years in Paris with first rank firms and, in partnership with René-Pierre Andlauer, created and managed for four years a business law firm in Rennes.

André WATBOT advises banks and lending institutions (as well, on a more occasional basis) borrowers, funds, or mezzanine lenders) in structured finance transactions: acquisition financings (LBOs or build-ups), project finance (in particular in the area of renewable energy), property finance.

He also assists banks and borrowers in negotiating and implementing company finance arrangements (syndicated or bilateral) and debt restructurings (including in connection with prevention of financial difficulties).

In addition, he represents financial investors and companies in connection with capital raising, whether in connection with capital investment transactions or debt financings (in the form of private placements or public offerings).

On top of his transactional activity, André WATBOT advises professionals in the financial sector (lending institutions, management companies, investment companies, payment establishments, financial investment advisors, start-up advisors, and other intermediaries) in connection with the legal and regulatory environment for their operations in France (permit/approval applications, treatment of various regulatory problems in the area of risk management, internal controls and compliance, anti-money laundering, marketing and sale of products, etc.).
