Rôle
Marta Koremba is Co-Managing Partner of Bird & Bird's Warsaw office, where she co-heads our Intellectual Property and Life Sciences groups. She also co-chairs the firm's International Trademarks Group.
Carrière
Since 2006, Marta has been advising clients in matters related to the protection of industrial property rights and the fight against unfair competition. She also specialises in Life Sciences, particularly in pharmaceutical law. She supports companies from the most innovative industries: pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetics and telecommunications.
Marta represents clients in patent disputes (mainly in the pharmaceutical sector). She develops global patent strategies at the pre-trial and dispute stages. She supports clients in the preparation of opinions on grounds for invalidity, non-infringement and patent clarity.
Marta has many years of experience in managing a broad portfolio of trademarks and industrial designs. She conducts application proceedings before the Polish Patent Office and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market in Alicante, as well as opposition proceedings concerning the annulment or revocation of exclusive rights.
She advises on matters relating to exclusive rights violation on the Internet, in particular by domain registration and use of keywords (keywords advertising). She represents clients in proceedings for infringement of the exclusive rights before courts, as well as in domain disputes before the Court of Arbitration for Internet Domains at the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
Marta is an expert on regulatory issues in the field of Life Sciences. She advises on issues relating to pharmaceutical advertising, trade in medicinal products, refunds and borderline products. She is co-author of the first commentary on the Polish Act on Pharmaceutical Law 2009.
Marta is recognised by Polish and international rankings, including by Chambers Europe, Legal 500, IP Stars, IAM Patent 1000, WTR 1000, FT Innovative Lawyers, Women in Business Law and Rising Stars Lawyers – tomorrow's leaders.

She studied Law and Economics at the Interdisciplinary Institute of Humanities Studies at Warsaw University in Poland, as well as at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.
