Matteo is a senior associate in our Corporate Group, focusing on restructuring and insolvency. He assists debtors, creditors and investors in all aspects of insolvency proceedings. He is also often involved in projects regarding energy & utilities transactions.

He specialises in civil and corporate law, with a focus on bankruptcy, assisting creditors, debtors and third party investors. He has specific experience in debt restructuring transactions, like turnaround plans. He also has expertise in standstill agreements, debt restructuring agreements and composition with creditors. He is used to drafting and negotiating many kinds of agreements with banks, debtors, investors and creditors in the debt restructuring sector.

Furthermore, Matteo has specific experience in assisting clients on purchasing distressed assets from insolvency procedures, such as stocks, companies and business concerns. His experience includes the sale and purchase of NPL credits towards distressed companies and the recovery of such credits in insolvency proceedings.

He also regularly advises clients on energy projects in relation to M&A deals regarding companies holding and managing energy plants, and in relation to syndicated and secured bank loans for the development, financing and operation of a wide range of capital-intensive projects, with particular emphasis on renewable energy. In the latter field, he also assists in drafting and negotiating EPC and O&M contracts for project development and maintenance.

He advises clients on M&A transactions and corporate extraordinary transactions, as well as in drafting and negotiating of the relevant agreements, including investment framework agreements, shareholders' agreements, and sale and purchase agreements.
