The Quebec disputes group at Torys specializes in representing clients involved in commercial contractual disputes, shareholder disputes and insurance claim disputes. Sylvie Rodrigue leads the practice from Montreal and focuses on class action, product liability mandates and commercial disputes, drawing on litigation experience in Quebec and other provinces. Additional names to note include Christopher Richter, who manages corporate and commercial litigation; Julie Himo, who handles matters involving commercial fraud, contractual and shareholder disputes and bankruptcy and insolvency and securities litigation); and Matthew Angelus, who majors on civil, commercial and class action litigation, with a particular focus on insurance, consumer, real estate, insolvency and transportation matters. Class action defence specialist Anne Merminod joined the firm in July 2024 from Borden Ladner Gervais LLP.
