Mayer Brown established its dedicated restructuring practice in October 2024 with the arrival of seasoned practitioner Marc Santoni and his team from restructuring boutique Santoni & Associés, consolidating an alliance between the two firms that began in 2022. The team has extensive experience in advising debt funds and corporate creditors on debt restructurings, especially LBOs and in relation to government-backed loans; assisting with insolvency proceedings; and handling the takeover of companies in receivership. Santoni is well regarded for his skill in advising on the restructuring of French companies and assisting investment funds with distressed acquisitions.
