The local office of the Madrid-headquartered tax powerhouse, Garrigues Mexico demonstrates great competency in corporate tax matters and evidences a growing transfer-pricing advisory offering; nevertheless, it is probbaly best known for its expertise and track record in tax controversies. The practice has built a substantial client base of both local and international clients, with -unsurprisingly- a strong showing of Spanish corporates. The practice is led by  Manuel Llaca, a transfer-pricing expert wh also handles federal tax litigation, and other forms of dispute resolution in the sector. Counsel Francisco Barajas assists with both consulting and controversy work; and principal associate Ricardo Fernández de Arellano specialises in international taxation, and has experience across Spain, Mexico and United States. Senior associate Iñigo García adds further depth on transfer pricing. Since publication, the office's merger with local firm Sánchez Devanny (announced in July 2024), has been completed - effective as of February 2025.
