The exceptionally deep bench at Squire Patton Boggs has extensive experience in the political sphere and is comprised of many former government officials and congressional staffers. The firm represents various associations, businesses and foreign governmental entities in efforts before the legislative and executive branches of government. The practice is led by a trio of practitioners: Edward Newberry lobbies on behalf of businesses in the tech, manufacturing and energy sectors along with sovereign governments, Robert Kapla handles matters of trade and treaty negotiations of behalf of foreign governments as well as various regulatory matters for private businesses, and David Stewart specializes in tax, international trade and national security. Aubrey Rothrock advises clients on regulatory and legislative developments in the fields of health benefits, financial services, environment, transport and trade. Beth Goldstein leverages her previous experience working in congress to advise clients on all aspects of healthcare legislation and regulation, while Ludmilla Kasulke focuses primarily on international trade and policy. The public policy practice group was significantly bolstered over the last years with the addition of various ex-government officials.
