Former co-practice head Brian Mahanna departed the practice in September 2024 for a position as counsel to the governor of New York, with Paul Connell now sole practice head. Connell has extensive experience in prosecutions and proceedings in the energy, tech, consumer protection, telecoms, manufacturing and pharma spaces before state and federal agencies. The practice was bolstered in January 2025 with the arrival of former first assistant attorney general of North Carolina, Swain Wood, who handles corporate and white collar investigations by state AGs and state regulators, and has experience in the pharma, tobacco and energy industries. Both practitioners are based in Washington D.C..
